Tired of Debt Collectors calling in the most inopportune times of the day? Those times like, at work; while eating dinner, weekends.
Tired of scrubbing your email’s contents from Debt Collectors? Those timeless discount offers to close a balance. Those “Consequences of Non-Payment” trying to sound as terroristic as they can.
These are just some of the woes of people dealing with the “attacks”, so to say, of Debt Collectors trying to reach you and get that sweet collections moolah. Debt Collectors engage in strategic tactics to try and contact you. They will:
- Call you on your Land Line
- Call you on your Mobile
- Call you on your Company Phone
- Leave Messages in your different phones
- Send Text Messages
- Send Email
- Send Post Mail
- Send someone to your house or work
The surprising Fact about this strategy is: This is well played within the confines of the Law. These Debt Collectors subject themselves to rigorous trainings of Privacy Legislation and the Debt Collection Guidelines. The contact schedule that they will use is so fool-proof that all the means that they use are all legit.
This Is Not The End
The best way to combat these is to arm ourselves with the appropriate knowledge to work around their tactics. Enter the Credit Laundromat.
What is a Credit Laundromat?
A Laundromat, by its definition, it’s where you clean your dirty laundry. So a Credit Laundromat is your spa in cleaning your credit. Here are my suggestions:
Set-up a Credit Laundromat Email
Create a separate email outside your personal and work email. I personally use Mail.com as they have fewer requirements in setting up. GMail is the next best choice.
Set-up a Credit Laundromat Phone
Go to your nearest pawnshop and buy a cheap mobile phone. Get a prepaid Sim card.
Once your done setting your Credit Laundromat System (Email and Mobile), the next step is to contact all of your creditors. Update you contact details with them by both calling them and sending an email declaring that all forms of communications should be done ONLY through email. Additionally tell them the best time to send an email, a time when you check emails.
Even Playing Battlefield
Now that we casted our moves, here are a few reminders:
- Regularly check your Credit Laundromat Email and Phone
- Always respond to them if they sent an email or text
- If they are trying to slip through this, let them have a first try. Remind them again that all communications should be done through email. If they persist, don’t go all legislation rage mode up their behinds (wink). Calm down, remind them again that all communications should be done through email, but this time take note of the time and date when this happened.
This Credit Laundromat System will control these pesky Debt Collectors. Key is adhere to all arrangements, both payments and communications, or else, they will sure to hound you.
